B12 Injections…  Are you B12 deficient?

Symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency are depression, fatigue or low energy, moodiness, trouble sleeping, memory loss, dizziness, loss of balance, numbness or tingling in hands and feet and dementia. These symptoms can slowly develop even when blood tests show that your B12 level is normal.

 Who’s at Risk?

  • If you are a strict vegetarian or vegan
  • If you’re diet doesn’t consist of the proper amounts of meat, fish and eggs
  • You’re over age 50
  • You’re pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You smoke cigarettes
  • You take drugs for heartburn or take potassium supplements
  • If you’ve had part of your stomach surgically removed or banded

B12 deficiency is common…Way too common

To get even the small amount of B12 you need, your body needs to be able to absorb it. Most people eat the recommended amount of vitamin B12, but are unable to absorb it in their stomach. This is where a vitamin B12 injection can help.

Vitamin B12 Injections are intramuscular injections given 1-2 times per week. With this form of administration, B12 is delivered directly to the blood stream therefore absorption issues are irrelevant. Recently a University of Michigan Research Study has acknowledged the benefits of B12 Injections. Read it here to see the multiple benefits of B12 Injections.
